Healthy Habits Going into Fall

Fall is a time of letting go, a time to clear out all that doesn’t serve us. It’s a beautiful time to go inwards and focus on keeping our two feet on the ground as we naturally begin to change with the seasons.  Some people actually observe this time of year as a New beginning of sorts.

When I work with clients on habit transformation we always begin with creating a stark awareness around our daily habits, this can be done by simple observation, or if you are really ready to do the work you may decide write down all your daily habits and routines. You may be surprised at what you find out but only then can we begin the change and the process of releasing all that does not align with our goals.

Fall is the ideal time to gift your body with the care and attention it deserves:

Detox: Celebrate Fall Equinox by nourishing your body and mind ( digital detox anyone?) with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Consume plenty of water and herbal teas.

Prioritize rest and rejuvenation: Synch up with your natural circadian rhythm. Take naps. Connect with nature through hikes. Herbal baths & journaling.

Practice deep breathing: Clear your lungs of debris and toxins, pay attention to your breath, slow it down to keep your nervous system relaxed and stable.

Declutter your home: A disorganized space creeps into your mind. Marie Kondo your place, love or leave it. Then fill it with incense, warm blankets, candles and books.

Spa Day: Need I say more?

As we head into the darker months, be kind to your body and mind. Remember to be patient with yourself and others and use this time to recalibrate.
